Basel VS Grasshopper

FC Basel: Terrible performance ( Recent Form: L L L D L )

The start to the season of the Red-Blue could hardly have gone worse. After two rounds in the Super League is the FC Basel with only one point in the account on the eighth place ranking. In addition, the Bebbi already missed the first goal of the season. Due to the defeat against PAOK miss the Swiss the group phase of the Champions League. The leadership of the Basler acted immediately and dismissed the unsuccessful coach Raphael Wicky. In the last two games transitional took over Alex Frei. The former FCB striker usually coaches the U-18s of Basel. Shortly before the third weekend, the leadership of FC Basel presented the new coach. Marcel Koller is to lead the footballers from the knee to old strength. The gap to the main competitor YB has already grown to five points. The football expert from Swiss radio and television Andy Egli expressed his positive opinion about the new coach of the Bebbis: “He is extremely experienced and undoubtedly able to give the club, the team and the whole region a boost.” Whether this is him will succeed in the first game, has to wait. Against the likewise kriselnde GC is a good start for Koller already almost obligatory.

Grasshoppers: Two 0-2 defeats in a row ( Recent Form: L D D L L )

In the new season, GC has been directly linked to the performance of the old season. Very close to the record champions last season has held in the Super League. At the end of the direct duel against FC Lausanne, the later relegated, has probably given the decisive rash. Thanks to this victory, the Zurich distanced themselves decisively from the relegation zone. The Grasshoppers have never been successful in the new season. Two games, zero points and no goal scored is the conclusion of GC before the third round of the championship. The job of Thorsten Fink is still not in danger. It seems as if the Hoppers lead will give him some more time to rip the rudder. It must also be noted that the Zurich had probably the most difficult launcher of all teams. To start GC traveled to Bern to the master. Despite a good performance they were not rewarded, YB took advantage of the numeric overpaid and won 2-0. In the second round, the first Zurich derby was already on the program. When looking at the statistics GC was even the better team – more possession, more shots on the opponent’s goal and more won duels. Nevertheless, the city Zurich succeeded in the end. Once again, GC’s offensive remained without a goal. If the champions and cup winners had not been enough, the third team will be followed by the most successful team of the last ten years. A point win in Basel would almost border on a miracle. Most recently, the Hoppers won a match against FC Basel in 2016.

After all, GC is already standing with his back to the wall. After two heavy opponents, the third follows on Saturday! After all, seven counterparties face each other in September, which are usually more in the lower half of the table. Against FC Basel, the first goal of the season would be a success. In Basel, on the other hand, conditions prevail as they did before the 2000s. After four games in the new season, the Basel have not yet achieved a victory. Together with the friendly matches, FC Basel have been waiting for their first success since 6 July. At that time they won against the FV Illertissen from the Regionalliga Bayern! In the duel between FC Basel and the Grasshoppers, we decided on the number of goals for a tip. Betting on under 3 goals seems to be promising.

Basel VS Grasshopper

O/U Pick: Under 3

Orlando City VS New England Revolution

Orlando City goalkeeper Mason Stajduhar is likely out for the season while Jonathan Spector and Lamine Sane are expected to be absent with injuries. Shane O’Neill is suspended.New England Revolution lists Chris Tierney and Femi Hollinger-Janzen as injured.

Orlando City played an excellent away game against the LA Galaxy on Sunday night, but had nothing to show for it in the standings after falling 4-3. Orlando took the lead three times, but couldn’t hang on as they were eventually done in by three goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Cristian Higuita and Dom Dwyer scored for the visitors in the 18th and 54th minutes, with the Galaxy’s Michael Ciani scoring an own goal in the 44th, but they blew their 3-2 lead when Ibrahimovic levelled in the 67th minute and won it in the 71st. Orlando’s Eastern Conference playoffs hopes took another hit with their 12th loss in 13 league games (along with one win) as they remain at 22 points. They are not out of it though as they trail the Montreal Impact and the New England Revolution and a playoff spot by just six points. They are ranked 17th at home at five wins, one draw and five losses and have been outscored 20-19.

The New England Revolution took last week off and haven’t played an MLS match since losing away 2-0 to the New York Red Bulls on July 21st. They have lost three in a row after going unbeaten in their previous seven with two wins and five draws. The Revolution has seven wins, seven draws and seven losses on the year for 28 points and are hanging onto the fifth, just a single point ahead of the seventh place Philadelphia Union. They have taken only seven of a possible 28 road points with a lone win, four draws and four defeats and are winless on their past seven trips with three losses and four draws.

Orlando has played two great games in a row and lost both of them. They are at home against a New England side that has just one away win and if they keep up the good work they should take three points.

The New England Revolution and Orlando City have met seven previous times and scored an average of 4.3 goals per game with a total of 11 in their past two meetings. I’m expecting another relatively high-scoring contest.

Orlando City won last year’s home encounter 6-1 while the New England Revolution won their home fixture 4-0. The teams each have two wins, two losses and three draws in their seven previous encounters.

New York City Football Club VS Vancouver Whitecaps

New York City lists midfielder Cedric Hountondji, Yangel Herrera and David Villa as injured. The Vancouver Whitecaps have reported a healthy squad, but Efrain Juarez is still suspended along with Kendall Waston.

Considering the way New York City played in their 2-0 win in Orlando last Thursday it wasn’t a surprise they lost 3-1 in Seattle on Sunday. New York were lethargic again as they trailed 2-0 after 51 minutes. Jesus Medina made it interesting with his 68th minute marker, but Harry Shipp put the final nail in the coffin with four minutes to go. New York still has the second best record in the league and the East with 43 points and trail first place Atlanta Utd by four. The loss snapped their four-game winning and clean sheet streak. New York will be happy to return home where they have the best record in the league and are unbeaten with ten wins and a draw.

The Vancouver Whitecaps almost blew it, but hung on to beat Minnesota Utd 4-2 at home last weekend. They can thank man of the match Alphonso Davies as the 17-year-old scored twice and added two assists. Jordy Reyna and Kei Kamara chipped in with a goal each. Vancouver took a 3-0 lead into the 82nd minute, but then conceded goals just 120 seconds apart. Davies then added some insurance two minutes later to make it 4-2. It was a big win and just Vancouver’s fifth in the past 17 league outings to go with eight losses and four draws. The Whitecaps climbed into seventh place with 29 points and are two behind Real Salt Lake and the last playoff spot. Vancouver is ranked 12th on the road with ten points from three wins, a draw and seven losses, but have lost their last three while being outscored 9-1.

New York will regroup at home after a couple of poor showings on the road and Vancouver will likely have to pay for it. I’m expecting the league’s best home side to take the points.

New York City has opened the scoring in 13 of 22 matches, including nine at home, while the Vancouver Whitecaps struck first eight times in 22 games and just twice on the road. New York should be the first to find the back of the net here.

The Vancouver Whitecaps won last year’s meeting 3-2 at home. However, New York City has won two of the only three previous encounters between the teams.

FC Dallas VS San Jose Earthquakes

FC Dallas expect to be missing Santiago Mosquera. Attacker Francis Atuahene has been acquired on loan from the OKC Energy of USL.The San Jose Earthquakes report Kevin Partida as injured with Fatai Alashe as questionable.

Doubtful: Dominique Badji (undisclosed)

FC Dallas played an impressive road game last weekend and it resulted in a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City. They are on quite a roll with nine wins, three draws and only two defeats in their past 14 league matches and remain in first place in the Western Conference with 42 points on the season. Man of the match Michael Barrios hadn’t scored for Dallas all MLS season long, but had a hat-trick with goals in the 23rd, 62nd and 74th minutes, while Kansas scored in the 50th minute as well as just before the final whistle. Dallas is very tough to beat at home as they are ranked fourth in the league and unbeaten with seven wins and four draws. They have also outscored the opposition 23-11 on home turf.

The San Jose Earthquakes managed to snap a three-game losing streak with their rather dull 0-0 home draw against Real Salt Lake last weekend. They are still winless in the past dozen league contests though with five draws and seven losses. They haven’t scored a goal in three straight games either and haven’t won since beating Minnesota Utd 3-1 away on May 13th. San Jose remains in cellar of the league and Western Conference on 13 points, with just two wins, seven draws and 12 losses. The playoffs are nearly impossible now as they are 18 points behind sixth place Real Salt Lake. The Earthquakes don’t appear to have much of a chance against Dallas, the top team in the West, as they have just one road win along with three draws and seven losses.

Dallas is the top team in the West and second-best in the league. I’m expecting them to handle San Jose, the league’s worst team this season.

Since FC Dallas is such a good defensive team with 25 goals against in 21 matches and the San Jose Earthquakes are one of the worst offensive sides with 29 goals in 21 games, I’m expecting a relatively low-scoring game. In addition, 52% of Dallas’ games have featured two goals or less.

The San Jose Earthquakes were 1-0 winners in Dallas last season and also drew 1-1 at home. It is their only win in the last nine meetings though along with four draws and four losses.
